WBZ News at 11 03:52 - 6H AGO EVERETT (CBS) – Encore Boston Harbor announced its plans for reopening with coronavirus protections on Monday, though no date has been decided yet for business to return. Welcome back to AM Intel, a round-up of mini news bites to kick off the week. Phase Three Begins: Massachusetts Casinos and Other Large Venues Can Reopen. Today, July 6, marks the start of phase three of Massachusetts’ reopening plan (except in the city of Boston, which will embark on phase three on July 13): Casinos, gyms, museums, and some other large indoor venues can begin to reopen.
Robert DeSalvio, who stepped down as president of Encore Boston Harbor in October, on Monday was named president of the Genting Group’s New York properties. DeSalvio, who has been in the casino. Encore’s return, part of Phase 3 of the state’s reopening plan, came after careful consideration from casino administrators and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, which set minimum standards.
